Steps that will help you.

  1. Verify Upload speed
  2. Check the number of tasks pending
  3. Check if OneDrive or Google Drive or similar tools are also uploading those photos in background
  4. Close Premagic app and reopen
  5. Check if the original files are still available for Premagic.
  6. Check if there's sufficient disk space available where Premagic is installed.
  7. Create a new project and a new folder, and upload one image.
  8. Corrupt photos.
  9. Network issue
  10. Contact our customer care, to get the logs
  11. Window opening and turn into white screen and not responding in windows

1. Verify Upload speed

There could be multiple issues if the internet upload is slow

  1. Upload speed on your network could be slow
  2. Packet loose due to unstable internet
  3. Large number of photos(10,000+)
  4. Multiple projects are getting uploaded.

Verify your interview upload speed. Visit fast.com and click on show more info and note down the upload Speed under the Upload section

Verify the upload speed. In the above image, the upload speed is 110Mbps. We recommend having an upload speed of at least 10Mbps.

2. Check the number of tasks pending

Visit view-> advance settings -> queues and check the number of tasks

In the above photo, we can see there are 2 tasks pending which is blocking the folder to set to your client.

Premagic will try to process the image, this can fail due to multiple reasons

  1. Original images were deleted
  2. Premagic doesn't have permission to read the images
  3. Corrupted images
  4. Low memory on the system
  5. Another application is using the images
  6. Machine issues
  7. Operating system issues

If you want to ignore the images and send them to the client which is getting blocked, then you can click on Delete task(the trash icon on the right) on the respective task, in this case, the first task saying process_images. After we click on the delete the blocked images will be ignored and they will get sent to the client.

3. Check if OneDrive or Google Drive or similar tools are uploading those photos in the background

OneDrive or Google Drive or similar applications might be uploading or syncing files in the background. This blocks Premagic from opening those files and uploading them. These applications might also be using up the network bandwidth causing the uploads to be slow. Quit these applications for Premagic to upload faster.

4. Close Premagic app and reopen

Closing the Premagic app and opening it again can automatically re-prioritize tasks, which can get items to continue uploading.

5. Check if the original files are still available for Premagic.

If your original files in on a portable hard disk or Pendrive or SD Card, make sure, it's connected. Premagic needs the device connected, till all the pictures are uploaded.

6. Check if there's sufficient disk space available where Premagic is installed.

Sufficient disk space is required for Premagic to operate. At least 5Gb of free space is required for Premagic to work smoothly.

7. Create a new project, new folder, and upload one image.

Check, if the upload is working at all. Create a new single project, a new folder and just upload one single photo. This is to make sure that any other apps aren't blocking the internet connection like Little snitch, other firewall issues etc.

8. Corrupt photos.

Upload may not work if the photos are corrupted. Premagic will ask the user to replace the corrupted photos manually so that we can upload them again.

9. Network issue, Unable to reach Premagic servers

Check if you are able to access Premagic.com

Advance check to know if Premagic server is accessible

On macOS,  Open terminal

On Windows, Open command prompt

and paste this

curl -L -O -J -vvvv -0 http://api.premagic.com/sync/

you should be able to see the following response.

If you are not able to access premagic.com or the above steps are failing.

  1. Try checkout out website not reachable error
  2. Try adding google DSN to your DNS setting.
    1. On Mac - How to Use Google DNS on Your Mac
    2. On Windows - How to use Google DNS on Windows
  3. After adding the DNS retry the steps above and check if it's working.

If you are still having issues with accessing Premagic then contact your Internet provider and tell them know, they should be able to fix it.

10. Contact our customer care, to get the logs

Contact our support and let them help you get Premagic logs. Also provide the name of the folder and the project, that you were trying to upload. The more details, the faster we can find the issue.

11. Window opening and turn into white screen and not responding in windows
Go to

C:\\Users\<username>\AppData\Roaming\PreMagic\premagic\data\

delete all files in this folder and re open the application.

Other Issues

  1. Check if it's stuck in copy. If the task is stuck in the copy process
    1. If in windows
      1. Open the terminal and type robocopy
      2. If there is an error, that means there is an issue with the system path
      3. Add `C:\Windows\System32 to System path.
